Funerals

Ministry to the sick

We love to pray for those who are suffering, expectant that God hears our prayers, and will bless in his way all those for whom we pray. When someone is approaching death, the family may wish the minister or another member of clergy to pray for the dying person. This may be done in private or with the family present. This can be a very special time for the family, where there is an opportunity to say goodbye and to thank God for their relative’s life.

If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact Paul Perkin on 01883 412454 or any other member of the team clergy.

Funerals

If you wish to have a Christian funeral conducted in church, the normal practice is to arrange it through us and a local Funeral Director.  Do contact Paul Perkin on 01883 412454. There is a Thanksgiving Service, with a Commendation. This is then followed (or preceded) by a short service of Committal at the Crematorium, or at the graveside in cases of burial. A standard fee will be payable to the church for this service and will be administered by the Funeral Director.

You may, however, choose to have the funeral at the Crematorium. The minister, or a member of clergy attached to the Limpsfield and Tatsfield Team Ministry, can be booked to conduct this service through the Funeral Director. A standard fee will be payable to the church for this service and will be administered by the Funeral Director.

The member of clergy assigned to conduct the service will normally meet with the next of kin at their home or the home of the deceased together with any members of family he/she wishes to introduce and details of the ceremony will be discussed.

If you would like to discuss this, please contact Paul Perkin on 01883 412454.
