Church bells were first rung at St. Andrew’s on 2nd May 1902, the tower having been completed that year following the consecration of the main building in April 1895. The bells were cast by John Taylor & Co. of Loughborough and were presented by a local benefactor, Mr. R. Ernest Alexander, the names of his family being inscribed on the six bells.
The bells at St. Andrew’s allow the ringers a special place in the life of the church, celebrating the festivals and marking the communities’ joys and sorrows.
We are aware our performance is heard by the congregation and visitors alike, and endeavour to improve at our practice session on a Friday afternoon.
So if this is a pastime you would like to be part of, why not get in touch?
